About We Are One, Inc.

On January 28, 2020, We Are One Inc. was founded by retired Marine Corps Officer Duane Thompson to support members of the Armed Forces and their families. As a nation, much has been done for our active and veteran communities, but there are still significant gaps that remain unfulfilled. We hope to fix this through our acts of kindness and charitable contributions.

One of the most critical gaps in the assistance military personnel receive is the proper care for the morale and welfare of service members and their families. Money Management International–a nonprofit personal finance company–found that of the 1.3 million current active duty services members a staggering 92.5% have debt. Additionally, 44% have experienced detrimental effects on their emotional and mental health due to financial stress. Almost half of the Armed Forces families are just one paycheck away from financial hardship.

In addition to financial challenges, deployments in all of their forms can also bring on the onset of unique challenges. No two deployments are ever alike; the location, mission, and duration vary each time. Trying to adjust to each deployment requires sacrifices and resiliency that can force the adaption of new roles in the family, the stress of separation and relocation, and even unexpected financial costs. Service members and their families are a resilient bunch, but the support of the greater community at large can be a huge help.

Giving Back to Those That Give It All

By providing financial assistance to the struggling families of deployed service members, our charitable organization hopes to help them meet the basic needs of food, clothing, and housing so that they do not have to feel the full weight of the stress of their situation. At home isn’t the only place we help; our team also provides care packages to the deployed to help boost their morale and demonstrate our eternal appreciation for their sacrifices.

The care packages we provide include:
